If you're going to be here in Nov it will be nice. The weather that is, not so sure about the AF training. It is a decent city though a bit large for my tastes. I'm currently stationed at Ft Sam Houston. So, welcome from glorious San Antonio.

Hello and a warm from Boston, Massachusetts. Thank you for serving our nation in the Air Force. Get the most you can during Basic Training. Once completed, you will have an opportunity to see the real San Antonio - it is a picturesque city. Or I should qualify that it was for me in 1974, when I found the "winter" exceedingly HOT! If the training for your AFS is on base, you will really find it a great place to be. You have seen from many of us veterans on the board, there are as many on active duty as well. Welcome to the Air Force family.

Welcome to a world-wide community.
If you are looking for a kilt to celebrate you German heritage, Rocky at USAKilts
(one of our sponsors) has created two special tartans in the last year. One is a German-American tartan and the other is called German Heritage (I think). I have the latter and it is a beauty. The colors are based on the black, red, and yellow of the German flag, while the German-American tartan has blue and white as well.
Good luck on your Air Force Career.
