Can we get a positive id on this tartan? I looked at several sources and was unable to find a match for either the Tyneside District or Tyneside Scottish Tartan.

That is one of the most stunning tartans I may have ever seen. So familiar, so different, so humbling in its history. Honor to the Tyneside.

A fine looking kilt. I'm currently reading the Soldiers Story which is made up from extracts from war diaries including some from the Tyneside Scottish. The first day of the Battle of the Somme was the worst day in British Military history with nearly 60,000 casualties on the first day alone. I think that continuing to wear the tartan is a fine tribute to those brave men.
