If your kilt ain't enough to get you noticed, one of these sgians is.
People notice these and either they love 'em or are repulsed by 'em - and they'll tell you so.

I have one of these fine beauties on the way. I showed my fiancee and explained to her my grasp of the concept. She informed me unceremoniously that we will not be doing the same with our beloved Leonidas (he's too small anyway...maybe a kilt pin?) He's a year old king snake.

How in the world does one go about mailing someone a dead animal?
Tell me, because someday I need one of these.

I've never mailed a dead one, but have mailed a few live snakes. Usually a small styrofoam "cooler" like you'd buy fishing goods at a tack shop in works. For live stuff (this step may be skipped with dead ones,) put the animal in a plastic container (with holes.) Put the container inside the cooler filled with ice. Seal the cooler up well but make sure it's not completely air tight. Put the cooler in a bigger box surrounded by small game bedding material or something along those lines. Ship quickly.
I received my last snake 12 hours after the breeder sent it. Not sure if the shipping would need to be quite as fast with dead stuff - but it only cost about 15$.

Wow JS,
That's one of the most creative things I've seen in years.
Well done!

To mail a dead snake, the best method would be to send a fresh specimen on ice/dry ice in a well insulated container. Obviously, it would need rapid delivery.
I have some more snakes on the way that have been chemically preserved, but this requires a modicum of skill & essential supplies to perform properly.
If you're really serious about me casting from a snake you possess, please send me some photos before you go to the trouble/expense of sending it. Not all road-kills are in a cast-able condition.
Slainte yall,
steve
