Hi Folks:

I live in Lethbridge, Alberta, and am making lunch whilst Posting. My 6th Floor Bachelor's Suite has a Balcony, from which I can see 80 miles SW to the Blackfoot Nations' Sacred "Chief Mountain". From our apartment building's 10th-floor Atrium, I can see some more mountains, which are SE of Chief Mountain, then swinging my view to my right, the Mountains guarding Waterton National Park [part of the Glacier-Waterton International Park], and then, to the west, the tips of the Mountains on either side of the Crowsnest Pass peer over the horizon. Closer, and to the right, the spectacular sheer face of the Livingstone Range appear, with the south end of our Porcupine Hills (which top out near to 6,000 feet, but are "just" hills, here in Alberta...) looming closer. Further to the right, (to the north) the bulk of the Porcupine Hills obscure all but the tallest of the Rockies, until, north of the High River end of the hills, the Rockies that are west of Calgary, Alberta, can be seen on a clear day.

Grandma Pedersen was a Stuart/Fraser, born in "The Soo" (Sault-st-Marie, in Ontario. My other heritage is Danish, so I come by my love of the Pipes, naturally! Grandpa P.J., a MInnesota Dane, married Grandma here in Alberta, and they farmed SW of Claresholm, Alberta. My Dad, Holger, was born on the island of Fuen, in Denmark, and emigrated in the 1920s. He bought the farm from Grandpa PJ in 1946.

I am a retired Seismic Surveyor, and have worked extensively in western Canada, so much so that there are very few back roads in Alberta, southern Saskatchewan, and NE BC, that I have not driven upon. The Arctic, and the High Arctic, I have worked upon, as well, during 10 or 12 winters. Because of that, the idea of mere humans causing Global Warming is really, really, risible.

I got to the North Slope of Alaska, once only. In winter, of course. Grin
Once, in 1972, to the Republic of Niger, and once, in 1986, to Tanzania, to Survey Seismic. Both places, lots-n-lots os Sunscreen was needed, no matter that I had a good Alberta tan on my skin.

Hobbies are Cooking, Gardening (Indoor & Out), Computers (using, taking apart, sometimes getting all the parts back in...), reading - History, Economics, Farming, Climate & Weather, and the use of the VCR, CD Player, and enjoying my Digital TV Decoder.
