Sorry fudgeman, I posted the wrong link. The boots I wore in the pic are the Gall's 8" Zipper Boot. The Tactical Boots are the ones I'm ordering now.

It looks great, Jimmy. I like the embossing on the kilt straps. The color, fit, and pleating look great. I've got a lightweight Lochcarron casual kilt: How much warmer does the heavyweight 8-yard feel compared to a pair of jeans? I also have the same problem as you, the over-long sporran strap. I run it through the belt loops over the kilt belt. The metal keeper almost never stays in place. Wear it in good health!

It's a fine looking kilt! Echoing triolamj here, the detail work on the straps really set it off! However, I can't tell from the photo if it's a basketweave pattern, or more of a celtic design.
If you don't mind unsolicited advice, save up some money for a good kilt belt with the same pattern as those straps! I'm sure you'll be please with the whole thing.

    Congrats!

No sir, I don't mind at all. The belt I'm looking at now is from Celtic Croft (the "Quality Celtic Embossed Leather Kilt Belt").
