People who act like that are closed minded and not conducive to change so your time is better spent on positive things ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
The best thing you can do in this type of situation is walk away, don't give it any power. Good on you!

Sorry you had to put up with some knuckleheads. Last time I wore a kilt out I had a few women ask me if i was wearing anything underneath which i turned around on them and asked them if they were wearing anything under their skirts I had a few snide remarks from some fellows but eh...they were just jealous. Sometimes you have to endure a few comments when you are doing something thats not the status quo. Glad you didn't end up getting into some altercation with these scofflaws. Although... weilding a claymore and running at these fools and seeing them scatter would be fun! Then again walking around with a claymore would be slightly conspicuous. I pity those who can't handle someone being a little different. They lead boring plain lives.

I like that Jaime. The kilt as Idiot Detector. Just goes to show you, never underestimate the power of the kilt.

I know I should let it roll and just keep walking, but I usually can't resist the nonchallenge of outwitting morons who comment.
My most recent one of note was at a bar in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I was up there to visit my friend for her birthday, and that night we went to the bar to watch the wrestling Pay-Per-View.
I went outside for a cigarette and as I was leaning against the wall, four bikers pulled up, all on big loud Harleys. Two of the men were in their fifties, grizzled old biker types, one was a bit younger, late thirties, and one looked to be in his mid twenties. They parked their bikes and walked past me in a straight line. I recieved a nod and gruff mutter from the first three, but the fourth, the youngest, stopped, turned around, looked me up and down, and said "Nice skirt."
I took a deep drag off my cigarette, looked at him, looked at his Harley, looked back at him, exhaled, and said "Nice scooter."
And that was that. I'd assume he got some ribbing about it from the other guys later, but as soon as it came out of my mouth I was certain I was about to be beaten within an inch of my life. *laugh*

well I'm sorry to hear of your experience, but as others have mentioned, it happens.
We get good experiences and we get bad ones.
as you know I've had my share of bad ones which I've posted about in here, and so far the only time it got physical was when they grabbed my sporran belt.
otherwise, I've simply dealt with them by either ignoring, or by walking and facing them, or by simply talking back.
that has worked every time.
now, no matter what, when you are outnumbered, the best thing to do always is to ignore them.
these morons exist to give decent people a hard time, whether they are wearing a kilt, or the girlfriend is good looking, or they are too fat, or they walk funny, etc.
whenever you're around the Louisville area, or whenever I'm in the DC area, I got your back bud.
kilt on and remember the good experiences!
