Grand Secretary
When in doubt call fax or e-mail your Grand Lodge that's what they are there for, they represent you so I'm sure they will give you their opinion freely. In our jurisdiction The Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province of Ontario the dress has been laid out for us by constitutional amendment several years ago, also keep in mind that tails are for Grand Lodge Officers Elected so the P C Jacket may not be suitable for lodge affairs.
Look to the east!! and don't be shy.

It wasn't an offical lodge event per say, it was a church service on a weekend which is more of a tradition than an offical lodge function...

Last week I was wearing my kilt to a lodge event for the first time. The american heritage tartan was very interesting to most and it was interesting just how many stopped to talk of their own family history. Only one of my Brothers was bothered by this. He started going on about "Who died I only see you people at funerals!" Sometimes even those who do good things get lost. After a talk over the issue he shook hands. over all it was a great time and I strongly recomend to go kilted to the lodge or any event.

I'm also a Mason, I do not think that there is any problem to go kilted to the Lodge.
We'll have, in Belgium, a special event in memory of Robert Burns in January and wearing the kilt will be very appreciate.
I just came back from Edinburgh, visiting lodges with a few brothers, if we decide to go kilted in our Lodge, it will be without any problem.

Oh Yeah, You should wear it! Here in NH we have a ruling about wearing irregular?, I'm not certain that that is the exact word, clothing while conferring the degrees. I raised my best friend kilted, in front of the DDGM during his visitation and he thought it was great. I wear it a lot in Lodge.
As an aside, the story behind my friend is pretty cool. We went to a Scottish festival in Gould, Quebec. I ran into a brother Mason who I had never met before and struck up a conversation with him. My buddy had always ribbed me a little about belonging to that funny old group of stuffy old guys but when he saw me, in his words, "Meet someone for the first time and act as if you were old friends", he decided that there was something to this Masons thing after all. He'll be Master of his Lodge next year!
Anyway that's why I wore the kilt that day. as it turned out we had a bro. from Ayrshire who was wearing pants! And he did a kilt check on me! All in all it was a fantastic day
Wear it with pride and don't worry about being too flashy or showy. I really think most folks will appreciate it.
