Yeah, I can't argue that.

Cape isn't actually on the fault (it runs southwest of New Madrid into the bootheel and down into Arkansas), but it would certainly be too close for comfort if the fault should go.
I would agree with Howard that there probably aren't too many kilties in Cape, but you're not too far away from St. Louis, which does have a fairly sizeable Scottish community. Alas, their games appear to be on the rocks at the moment, but there are other activities.

Thank you everyone for your input.
For those that had a dim view of peabody, MA....what is not to like? On the map it looks like it's right next door to boston (of course, coming from the west I think anything less than a 5 hour drive is right next door ). Anyway, tell me more!
I cant believe how many people have had contact with Cape Girardeau. If not for the job offer, I would have probably gone the rest of my life being completely ignorant of that town.

... this next move has to be the "perfect" job.
I can't imagine that such a thing exists. Anywhere.

My brother lives in Peabody, and I've been to Bedford, NH, and for the life of me I can't imagine a job that is unique only to those three places. If you'd like I'll hook you up with my brother for some first hand knowledge.
PM me

Greetings kilted bro. Ozone
You have a life and a child, all you need is a spot to strive, drive, thrive and flourish, RIGHT?
Good.
You are first to bat in an underdog seeding in an away game. Win or lose, at the end of the game you'll be standing in front of a roaring crowd. You'll be either the hero or the zero for that crowd. However, that crowd is utterly inconsequential to your desired outcome which is to be the life force in propelling your child into the world of business successes and trials.
Don't be afraid to let your child see you cry if and when you get hurt or let down. On that same hand, share every success and fun event for that is the stuff of bonding and basic elements of the child's fuel in his/her future growth in every way.
You'll end up depleted/fulfilled all the way.
Move to a place that can provide plenty of exploratory excursions and far horizons, then go for it!
Russell
Go, have fun, don't work at, make it fun! Kilt them, for they know not, what they wear. Where am I now?

For me, that is enough reason right there but Peabody is actually very nice as far as Boston suburbs go.
Boston is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live anywhere near there because crime is high, cost of living is ridiculous, and traffic is a nightmare. Granted, those problems are actually lower than many other cities of similar size but that doesn't make them any less of a pain. Additionally, Massachusetts in general has a few annoyances I'm not fond of like the strictest gun laws in the country (that for some reason don't seem to cut down on random shootings) and income taxes.
All of this is just my opinion though. All of my relatives live in Massachusetts and like it. I also know many people who live in or around Boston and they say they wouldn't live anywhere else. It all boils down to "one man's paradise is another man's nightmare".
There are 10 kinds of people in the world...
Those that understand binary, and those that don't.

Annapolis, MD would be a good choice. I have very close friends who live near Annapolis so I've been there and thereabouts quite a few times. Beautiful area. You would be close to Baltimore, DC, the Virginia beaches, an hour and a half from Philly, half a days drive from New York City...

Annapolis man! I have lived in Baltimore all of my life (I work in the emergency room of the hospital I was born at). I take my fam. to Annapolis to walk around all the time. It is a beautiful place to live.
