    Thanks. I'm trying to find someone to take some photos while I'm dancing so I can see what it looks like. The problem is that most, if not all the people I could ask are dancing as well

    I'm wondering how many metres/yards of fabric you needed to accommodate 29 pleats ...

    Depends on the tartan sett (check); wider sett, more material. I'm making kilt with 21 1" pleats with only 7 yards of material and even using every second stripe (sett), while sett is so small (Steward black small check tartan).
