Hello and a warm Celtic from Boston, Massachusetts.
Check out ALL the vendors on this website. This will give you a great range of kilt offerings to decide over. Think of your budget and what you expect to do in the kilt. I have always worn a kilt, as one was handed down to me in the family. I have aged to where I enjoy going about in a kilt every day. The forum has a rather lengthy thread titled kilt dos and dont's that was started by pour1malt. It is a good read. The traditional kilt does not have pockets, so you will need a sporran to carry around the keys, money, mobile, and other stuff. You can get started affordably with a Stillwater kilt (acrylic)and accessories. Jerry's service is fast. ( The kilt will hit your door in a very short time after you hit the "submit" button.) USA Kilts has several lines of quality poly-viscous kilts. The semi-traditional line is great for dressing up or dressing down. Sport Kilt has a nice line of kilts for competing in the Highland Games, or beating around the neighbourhood.
If your choice is to go contemporary, Union Kilts, and Freedom Kilts have a lot going for them. Many contemporary kilts have pockets, and therefore no need to wear a sporran. The Utilikilt original has cargo pockets that can hold a lot of stuff.
My avatar is a Stillwater Irish National kilt.
The search engine on this website is your friend, and posting specific questions here will get fast answers.
Enjoy yourself here.
