Hey Brooster, you're makin' me jealous.

Kathy actually works out of her home, but an area is set up as her shop with all the gear and space one needs for kiltmaking. She doesn't have a retail shop. Just give her a call to let her know you wanna visit. www.kathyskilts.com

Maple Leaf is on my Kathy Lare wish list too. My ancestors were Canadian wetbacks...slipped over the line from Nova Scotia....yes, I know Nova Scotia's not on the line, its where they came from.

Some of my cousins already moved back to the old country.

Maple leaf it is! Now I just have to pry the 15 yards of 40 year old Hudson's Bay Maple leaf from my mother's stash, maybe a bribe of that black and red Cameron (Her grandmother was a Cameron).

One of the neat things about this infatuation is the information that I am gaining about my ancestors; Cameron, Moore, Hayes, Lindsay, Birse (Byers), Gordon, Knupp et al.. this is not to mention the non-Celtic roots; Van Orsdal, Olsen, Rassmuessen, Intaligo, Fenstermacher, Garcia-Padilla and various Native American and Alaskans who's surnames are lost to history.

When wearing the kilt, I proudly say I am Scottish decedent twelfth ( Ephrem Byers Boston Harbor 1748) generation, along with Irish, English, Russian, German, Norwegian and Native American. In short I am an American, and I can wear any bloody thing I want!

Good to hear so many positive things about Kathy - she does come highly recommended and is really easy and nice to work with. The first day I called her we talked for about a 1/2 hour about the kilt and what I wanted, as well as spending some time just to get to know each other, and I have to say she's incredibly nice and patient and explains everything about what she does. She definitely knows her stuff.

I'll definitely be trying it on multiple times when my lady's out of the house, not only because I'm really looking forward to wearing it but also to ensure everything looks great.

Spartan - good to meet another Clark. It really is such a beautiful tartan - can't wait to get it and share pictures!
