    Ah, very good. Thanks to you and Scotus for the correct info. From now on, I will refer to it correctly as the 'Red and Black MacG'. My prior reference to it as the 'Rob Roy' originated from another MacG. Although I am not a MacGregor, I have a flannel shirt and an 1830's period waistcoat in this tartan, not to mention diced hose. I also wear the Red and Green MacG for piping.

    Just to complete the set, try to avoid the term "MacGregor Hunting" (at least in Sir Malcolm's presence). It is MacGregor of Cardney. There is a neat story about its origin cited farther down the page from Matt's blog; or on the tartan page linked from http://clangregor.org/

    I'd be leaving them hanging on the back of the door I'm afraid. Goodness they ARE busy outfits. Superb craftsmanship agreed, but crikey!!
