I am 99.9% certain that the sporran badge is in fact a Gordon Highlanders sporran badge and not a Seaforth badge.

I believe you're right. It's definitely not Seaforth. Close though!

I love this thread. I almost pulled the trigger on a horse hair sporran from Kilt Mart last night because of it.
Do I want it - Yes!
Can I afford it right now - No!

It was a close call, but financial responsibility eventually won out.
This and other battles like it will likely be fought again tonight.

when the Gordon's amalgamated with the queens own who were already an amalgamation of two famous regiments. They decided on a Gordon kilt and Mackenzie trews. The horse hair sporran was a queens own stlye but had a Gordon's sporran badge. This is the sporran that puffer now owns. The regiment was only formed in 1994 and is now called 4th battalion Royal regiment of Scotland

Liverpool Scottish are part of A Company 4 LANCS, also last unit to wear a kilt in action IIRC

As for replacing the sporran badge, at one time clan crest sporran badges were available from kilt shops but I haven't seen them advertised for some time now. Does anyone know of a seller ?
The Kilt is my delight !
