Are you wearing the kilt now so that she knows what a stud you are? If not, start.

Welcome!
Welcome from Dickson, TN! Here's another idea: model what you'd like to wear at the wedding. Maybe all it will take is to see how classy (and macho) YOU will look in a kilt!
Never approach a bull from the front, a horse from the rear, or a fool from any direction.

If you wear the kilt while out on dates with her she should be fairly comfortable with you being in the kilt. As to the wedding day it is she who must be the spotlight of attention. If you are kilted often enough with the families and friends who will be attending, so that the kilt is not a "big deal" then it will work.It may also be prudent to see if the males in the wedding party, (your father, best man, ushers) can/will/want to be kilted. Unless her father has Scot heritage that he is proud of, and is already a kilt wearer, do not dream of asking that he be kilted.
If you do not often wear the kilt in public, or within the family group, it may not be to her pleasure, as the other females will be checking you out. Also, if you are not so used to wearing the kilt that is not "habit" to kneel, sit or move otherwise without providing an answer to "the question", it might not be to your advantage.
Oh BTW, Hello and a warm Celtic from the snowdrift of Boston, Massachusetts.
