    Forrester definitely has it right, and I would paraphrase and strengthen his further statement thus: "If anyone is calling it "Japanese Scotch" it is certainly that person and not the distillery nor the stores that is at fault."

    I'm sure there is some Scotch-only competitions.

    I guess if all whisky is lumped together, Scotch may not fare well. It is rather unique, but that's why I like it.

    I am a Tobermory, Auchentoshan, and Aberlour man myself. Those just happen to be the ones that get out of the cupboard most often, leaving their many mates (30+ other bottles) a bit envious, in addition to the several fine Irish whiskys.

    I am not allowed to drink a lot, so I make up for quantity with quality. And variety.
