Superb, Derek, looks another joyous day out, I wish I had friends and family to join me on my walks.

I just wish I could walk for ½ hour, let alone 1½ - unfortunately those days are now behind me. Unless you allow me to drive you there Derek, I guess that's another of your wee treasure houses I will not get to see!
A great photo reportage. Thank you.
Take care,
Ham.

Hamish ... It is a wee treasure house that you will CERTAINLY see. I have already arranged with Gordon that he and Geraldine will take you, El and myself there in his car, for a meal the night b4 the folk festival in Sept. The Sun eve will be down the town like b4 with ar and dot, and the mon you are coming on the bus with us all to the Red Cow .. (no walking involved.)
Remember that you are coming 3 or 4 Sept and going back tues 8th Sept. Dont forget you will also be compere and stage manager again in the church on the Sat eve as well as help put up tents, gazebos and sweep the church hall floor, then theres the stage and church lighting to sort out as well.

That all sounds great to me, Derek - I can't wait, in fact (though I guess I'll have to!).

You're jokin', right? That was not in the Contract I signed. My Agent (Brian Drew of Shaftesbury Avenue, London, W1) knows nothing of this.
The very idea! It's outRAGeous! With all my years in Rep., thankfully behind me, I must have swept more provincial stages between shows than you've had hot dinners.
If you are making these onerous chores a condition of my appearance, I shall have no alternative but to throw a 'Star-like wobbly' minutes before curtain-up!
I'm a star, I am. I'm a Golden Boy oos in 'is prime ......... and another thing: I demand 'top of the bill' listing AND I want my name in lights on the church tower. Now, that's got you thinkin' hasn't it? Put up tents and gazebos, sweep the floor and sort out the lighting - Harrumph!!
Take care,
Ham.

Fantastic tour, and great pics. Thats what most people this side of the pond think of as quintessentially brittish. Nothing beats a good walk with friends regardless of the weather especially kilted

Oh come on Hamish! You know you should do all that with good grace, besides they have not asked to to peel the spuds and or onions, make sandwiches, clean the windows, repair the lead on the roof(once you have found it,the lead I mean), oil the door hinges, clean the car park, sweep the chimney, or any thing else, now have they? Well not yet, anyway!

In the bleak midwinter.....
.... head for the most remote pub you can find. At least you can enjoy the pint in peace!
