I currently own 2 SWK Economy's - Irish National and Black Watch - and have been very pleased with SWK's service every time i've done business with them. So the customer service part is not in question at all.

Since this thread has been running I am still waiting for my kilt from Frugal Corner that I ordered in their St. Patrick's Day sale, and it is now July. They lost my order in their move, and can't find any trace of it in their records, but say they have tacked it onto someone else's rush wedding order and that I should expect it by the middle of this month. I can't say I'm surprised, based on other's comments and knowing that they were relocating while my order was pending. Maybe I like living dangerously!
OTOH, with the sale price it is half the cost of a green kilt from Stillwater, and the latter has a 'shadow' tartan, whereas I actually want plain green, not green-on-green, so as to be more authentically Irish, plus the one I have ordered is custom length as well for that price.
I am now hoping that it will get here before the Old Town Irish Festival on August 1st. Even if it doesn't, I won't be half as upset as the people in that wedding party will be! I can always just wear a different kilt.
The main differences between the two dealers are selection and service. Neither of them have both at the same time. I suppose if you just wear anything that you like and don't worry if you are the right clan or WHY, then you would always go with Stillwater, but I am personally rather averse to stepping on other people's toes by wearing their tartans.
I have an Irish National kilt from Stillwater and hopefully soon will have a Solid Green kilt from the Frugal Corner. Once I get a Solid Saffron kilt from Stillwater (which I know I am bound to do, sooner or later) I will have everything that either of them offer that I actually want and don't already have, having Irish, but no Scots, blood. Getting the Solid Green one from FC is a bit more challenging, but I'm not put off by the delays (so far).

As has been said many, many times in this and other threads the service that Jerry at Stillwater provides is indeed second to none.
(I own 2-Thrifty Kilts, 1-Economy Kilt, 2-Standards and 1-Heavyweight)
The Frugal Corner is still learning the ropes. They've moved and had a change in ownership. Service can be spotty, but they are trying real hard (at least in my experience).
(I own of their 3-16 oz. kilts)
They may or may not have the same supplier, however the fabric is not the same! The fabric on FC's 16 oz. feels heavier and is a bit stiffer, has nice swish. SWK's fabric is softer and seems to pill more easily.
Both are great values for the money.
Hope this helps,
Marshal Moroni

I received my Frugal Corner kilt today!
This has now taken five months, i.e. about 20 weeks, as opposed to the 8-10 weeks they quote for custom orders. Bear in mind (as I posted above) that they completely lost my order in the move from Minnesota to DuBois, Pennysylvania.
The custom length is right. However, the waist is one size larger than I ordered!
I ordered one size up from my kilt waist measurement, because they say they are sized to the maximum. There are four holes an inch apart, so you can tighten to three inches smaller, but no larger, than the size label. Some have posted that the FC kilts are not sized this way, but this one is.
So now, having received the size above the size I ordered, the maximum that this goes to is four inches larger than my kilt waist, and the tightest is still an inch bigger than my measurement (which, however, was taken at a fairly tight fit).
Nonetheless, although loose, it stays up without a belt, and if necessary there appears to be some room to punch an extra hole in the straps to make it slightly tighter. If I lost any weight, though, I'd have to get the straps moved. After waiting this long, I'm not about to send it back.
FC's '13oz kilt' is definitely lighter weight fabric than either of my other acryllic kilts, and one of those is an SWK Thrifty. That's not a bad thing in this neck of the woods, though. Summers here are very hot and humid.
It came with three rows of basting stitches, and these were black on a dark green kilt, so not as easy to see as if they'd used white thread for that. Getting them all out was quite difficult, and I may have done some minor damage in the process. There were some loose green threads that I had to cut too.
All in all, it's what I wanted. I also got it at a great price in their St. Patrick's Day sale (remember St. Patrick's Day, four months ago, LOL!). Repeat business doesn't really arise, as they have nothing else in their range that I want or am likely to want other than this Solid Green kilt, although I might have considered buying accessories from them if their service were better. If they add a Saffron kilt or any tartans that I actually have a link to, I'll have to think carefully before ordering them.

I purchased frugal corners Masonic 16oz kilt. It is a solid well made kilt, that is sure to please most. my kilt arived on time and I had absolutely no problems with the quality or build. I also purchased several products from stillwater kilts. yes there was a time when I was not comfident with frugal corner, however; after taking a chance I was very happy with them. Both are good to go now! I do wear my stillwater thrifty the most fishing, gardening ,tooling around the man cave.I dont feel it is a "VS" issue anymore.

Good talk on the subject Frugal Corner vs Stillwater.
I think we agree that both are trying there best.
The more competition the better.
