One day someone really must explain to me what the "fashion" people are trying to achieve with the runway shows. Anorexic models with crack-adict eyes and street urchin clothes. Apparently they make their living in the train wreck or freak show business.
Lucky for us, Most runway concepts don't make it to the store front. They are just fashion exercises. However Marc Jacob's kilt wasn't a concept and the man just love wearing the kilt. He also stated that he has no intention to produce a line of kilt in the future.
This forum has a subsection called Traditional Kilts and another called Contemporary and Non-traditional Kilts.
Apparently to some they should be renamed True Kilts and False Kilts.
For anyone waiting for fashion shows to reflect the tastes and styles of men of a certain age – can I use your stuff while you wait?
It’s going to be a while.
If that extreme and anorexic and ragamuffin look were to go to mass market, retailers would insist that it be be toned-down. Or toned-up. (It’s such a mess that I’m not sure which.) And if they were to at least place the pleats in the back only, and place the length at the knees, then we might at least have something upon which to build.
