According to the ortho MD I saw recently, it is possible that such an operation is in my future. Everyone that I have talked to about this says that it is the best thing they ever did.

Best wishes, Weasel,
I had a motorcycle accident last summer. Broke my lower left leg and they had to put a rod in. Also had to have a skin graft, which they took from my thigh to cover the hole in the back of my calf where the bone came through. Ugly lookin' scar. At least the doc pointed my toes in the right direction.
I'd toyed with the idea of covering it with a tattoo, but, unless it's a really good tat, I think it'll draw more attention to the scar than cover it up.
Right now, I'm thinking I might get a pair of half chaps like dressage riders sometimes wear. Thought maybe having the slick black leather "armor" look might be more interesting....and removable.
I'm just getting to where I can walk without a cane again, (it's been 7 months). Just do the rehab...no matter how painful it is at the time...it'll be worth it later, trust me.
I'll be back to doing the Riverdance in no time...which is kind of odd, since I couldn't do it before...hmmm..

Update
Going into the "body and fender shop" tommorrow, All is packed including my X-kilt both for comfort and to preserve my dignity as I will have a drain in the knee for a while and I do NOT want to wear a buttless travesty of a gown they have promised to provide:butt:. I prefer to be covered both fore and aft thank you very much! I will have someone update this thread once surgery is complete as I plan to be quite stoned for a while and therefore should not be allowed anywhere near a computer!

All the best with your surgery and recovery. Don't skimp on the physical therapy, but also give your self time to rest. And although posting can be quite interesting in a legally drugged state, its nice that someone will post in your place.
Regards,

Weas you old, grumpy and loud, south Tejas coffee drinking rapscallion, I'll see you tomorrow while you're on enough legal drugs to tell the truth about just about anything! What's the name of the bonsai in "Cat who walks through walls?"

Weasal Mender Mended Member
For all those who would like to know the South Tejas, kilt wearing, W Mender has indeed been mended. Made it through the body shop, now on the rack waiting for the pain (t) to dry. He's got one of those clicky do dads that' he can punch for orbit, near lunar, solar system or galactic mode. The cursing and screaming you should start to hear in about 10 hours, will be his first PT. He was snoozing on interstellar warp when I tried to see him today, but I am assured by his nurse he'll be back to his usual rampages tomorrow. Will send pics of his modified Hospital kilt!
