I had a chiropractor tell me once that he would be out of business if men stopped carrying fat wallets in their hip pockets all the time. It is especially bad whilst driving. He was not kidding, and he was the sort that was in it for the money (he collected very expensive pocket knives, which is what I made then).
I too have gotten so used to having my stuff in the sporran, that I wear it on my hip with jeans sometimes. I didn't like stuff in my pockets anyway, from years of working at home (no need to carry a bunch of stuff around at home). Seems quite natural to me now. And my Thorfinn sporrans are way better made than any of the waist packs that I have owned. Looks better too !
