Thanks for your warm wishes, everybody. Cody is really settling in well. I had my worries at first since he was very clingy and jumpy the first day (even for an Aussie) and wouldn't eat or relax. We are now figuring out the routine of exercise both physical and mental he needs in order to mellow out. He's like Pip in a lot of ways, but has his own personality that is much more sheep dog and less spaniel. It's nice to have a dog who matches my hair so exactly too.

As the owner of a 16 year old mini Aussie, I can assure you that you will have years of love and companionship. The vet brought ours over when she was about a year old. She had been abused and the vet said I needed another dog as we had a flock of sheep at the time!!! After chasing the cat, rounding up the sheep and tearing around the yard she came in and laid down in front of the wife and decided she owned us!!! All the best.

Thanks for all the congratulations. He's an absolutely wonderful dog so far. He was badly under-socialized by the previous owners who gave him up knowing they simply couldn't give him the attention he needed.
We've figured out that two long walks through the park each day with bursts of playing seems to keep him worn out.
He needs a lot of training but he has such a sweet personality and is definitely worth it.
Hopefully I can take him to obedience school soon and Diane can get him certified as a therapy dog, too.
