As one who has almost lost fingers due to rings catching on stuff, to this day I can't bring myself t wear rings of ant sort for long periods. My father was a wildland firefighter for thirty-seven years and never wore his wedding band, it was a safety hazard, it will wear it a times now that he is retired but years of long habit are hard to change and he still does a lot of work wear a ring could easily get caught.
