He gives us poems and sonnets, though none of them for cash
While in his kilt resplendent and done with great panache

It seems we may need a run off for Poet Laureate honors. Barry and Panache, so far. Yank vs Brit, shaping up for a nice transatlantic faceoff.

Anyone for good old fashioned poetry shootout? Limericks at high noon? Sonnets at 12 paces? Iambic pentameter fencing duel perhaps? A Shakespearian version of capture the flag?

Should we start placing bets now, set the odds for each, favorite vs underdog, parimutual wagering and off-track betting and all?

To share and learn from one another
In a place without strife

Politics and religion they set aside
Vulgar language they shun
And look past the myriad things that divide
To laugh and learn as one

Bound by a common thread
Each woman and man
They come to read and be read
about the proud garment of Scotland

We might have passed by or never known
All these special ladies and men
But for love of the kilt and this place of our own
Through which we have expanded our ken

We have built this place together, word by word and page by page
To look to the future of kilts and make sure that their past is not forgot
On this magnificent virtual gathering of the electronic age
This wonderful kilt forum, X Marks the Scot!
