As everyone knows how the ladies love a man in a kilt, you may take some time to recover. Have a great time.

You kilted among a bevy of beautiful women vying for attention in a beauty contest for Mrs North Carolina. The only thing better would be if it was for the MISS North Carolina contest, if you know what I mean.
Enjoy yourself and the opportunity.

Shower or bathe. Good cologne. Don't forget the brush your teeth. They'll be fallen all over you if smell half as good as you will look.

You should wear a Carolina tartan to make a "state"ment..dress to the nines and get more attention than the contestants (except your friend).
I think any of the Xmarkers who lived in NC for any amount of time, should get to go,too. I just happened to have lived in Goldsboro and a little town of Jacksonville, well actually Camp Lejuene.
I hope you have a great time, and do take plenty of pictures, just to prove you were there.... No pictures, you really were not there.....LOL

I think you're all missing an important point. Since Barclay has moved his place of residence to SOUTH Carolina, his invitation should be null and void.
As an official resident of NORTH Carolina AND the owner of a Carolina tartan kilt AND old enough to really appreciate the MRS NC contestants, I believe that I should be the one to go in his place.
Kilted Teacher and Wilderness Ranger and proud member of Clan Donald, USA
Happy patron of Jack of the Wood Celtic Pub and Highland Brewery in beautiful, walkable, and very kilt-friendly Asheville, NC.
New home of Sierra Nevada AND New Belgium breweries!

Let's see...gala evening, surrounded by beautiful women, and and I have to be kilted. Gosh, whatever shall I do?
It sounds like a trap to me.

Of course if we want to split hairs, I should be invited because I'm a lifleong, native Tarheel who did not go out of state to college.

Start by losing the husband...
