Best,

We don't choose the members of our family, but we carefully choose with who we get involved on our own choice. This could be additional reason.
Regards to all!

It really is the best community.
When I had money stolen while in Spain I had several offers of help from xmarkers whom I had never met.
Regional Director for Scotland for Clan Cunningham International, and a Scottish Armiger.

This is the best support network I have ever known.
When we had the Kilt Night in Preston the other month, 4 men in kilts, who were total strangers were instant friends within seconds. We talked about the weather, our journeys, the BEER, more about the weather and finally about our kilts. But without X Marks, it would never of happened.
I don't think I could do this kilting without having X Marks behind me and I am grateful to you all just for being there.
Regards
Chas

I have also thought to myself, what a warm and friendly community this is. Dispite that the majority of you live in the USA I quickly got in contact with other kilted norwegians through this forum. I also think that we manage to keep the community this way because we do not discuss politics and religion.

Trust
What a bunch of self-loathing, unscrupulous, depressing, whining, and otherwise uninteresting bunch of low-lifes the rest of the world must be. Actually this topic of "trust" makes me think of a story I should have shared a long time ago. There is a weaver in NC, (Matt Newsome Knows her name I'm sure,) that my wife and I met at the Stone Mountain Games. My wife wanted a throw-blanket in the Carolina tartan. She did not have any on hand but had one back at her home. She took down our name and address and sent it to us without any payment in advance. She didn't know us from Adam's house cat but I guess being at the Highland Games, she figured we must be trustworthy. So maybe it goes beyond XMTS, maybe there's something about people who wear kilts, (or are married to people who wear them,) that is innately trustworthy. I'd like to think so.......
Respectfully,
David
