This is my second double box from Lady Crystel, and it won't be my last - It's a Very, very nice kilt, and draws comments from those kilt intelligent or kilt educated people who see it. With my other one, I had a guy chase me down the length of the Mall wanting to ask questions.

As to the differences between a Double box and a regular box, it is a little (very little) heavier, so, it swings and sways more. This makes sense because it has that extra pleat in each pleat.

As to the differences between a Double box and a full blown traditional, Not that much, a little lighter. It is easier to sweep the pleats, which seems counter-intuitive, but true. The pleats seem to fall in line better.

Comparing a standard box to a double box, I think I like the double box better, (a lot better!)

I think the move is roughly the same as a full, heavyweight knife pleated kilt, while not being as heavy.

Jay, I am envious That Tartan, IMHO, looks far better in the "dbl. Box pleat. than in the "knife" pleats I have seen.

That's a lovely kilt. Pity Her Ladyship couldn't find a better looking male model.

Awesome looking kilt Jay. You say that this is your second double box pleat. Can I assume that your first is Leatherneck?

That does it. I'm not selling my 6 yards of X Marks PV. I'm making a double box pleat out of it.

Thank you all on behalf of L.C. for your kind words and comments.

We would simply like to mention how FAST the kilt got to Jay's from France; 5 days according to Milady's calculations !

Beautiful kilt Jay. I have been wanting a double box kilt since Lady Chrystel first introduced it, here on the forum. Only one minor thing has stopped me from ordering it,...the choice of tartan. I have narrowed the field to three (after seeing your kilt, I'm now seriously considering the use of a highly sensitive device for my final choice, it has been used successfully for decades in stock selection. This device, has a scientific name, but I believe you would know it by its common name,..."Dartboard".)

Aye, tis a beautiful tartan and a great looking kilt. I had been leaning toward a box pleat for my next kilt but I'm now leaning further towards the double box pleat. Enjoy it often.
