I've had a mega-jones lately to go down to USAK and get that American Heritage. I've been waiting, saving up my money for the trip down. Get a kilt. Go across the street with the wife and have a nice lunch at the brewery there. Make a fun day out of it. So here's how it goes:

Planned on going for this kilt about a year ago. Me and the wife set a date when we could both be off on a Saturday for a date of it. Spun out on ice and had to fix my car to the tune of $700. No kilt.

Saved more money, was ready to go down right after Christmas. We made plans to go get it, getting all jonesy... W2 came in the mail, and I did my taxes. After a nice strong drink, accepted the fact that this time also, no kilt.

Saved more money, was all ready to go down.... blew out my ankle. Xray, MRI, the works. Torn ligament. Can hardly walk. No kilt.

Finally, I saved more money, and decided this June I was getting the kilt. Nothing could stop me! I was supposed to go down this coming Saturday to get it. Super-mega jones!!! Nothing could stop me this time, right????

Couple weeks ago I got laid off.

Who are the kilt gods, and what sacrafices do I need to do to appease them?

The way I see it, the kilt Gods might be saying to you "It's just not the right time quite yet", or " Maybe you should order in the fabric, order a sewing machine, get the Xkilt manual and make one in the safety and comfort of home".
Although now that I think on it, sewing machines have them big fast moving awful needles in 'em don't they?

Best of luck! Accidents aside, it seems when you're trying to get one hand out of your pocket, another is working it's way into the other! A new jobs will come and with that, more kilts!

    Thanks for all the encouragement...

And I've found the more time I spend on this site, the more I respect Rex's wisdom.

I have decided to appease the kilt gods by finally opening that single malt I had in the rack....

Remember the xmarks motto, it didn't happen unless there are pictures. Even pictures of enjoying a nice single malt may substitute for those that would have been of you and your new kilt. You can catch up with the new kilt and kilt pics later when life is more settled for you. But I would enjoy seeing the smile the scotch whisky puts on your face as a welcome substitute now.

Sometimes ya gotta find joy in the few places you have available to you to look.
