I am "out here." And I'm not sure what a manual trannie is in San Fransisco, but in the great state of Washington, it means a clutch and anywhere from three to six gears that you shift to make the change the speed or the power of the car with.

I assume that because you are vague about how many gears "three to six" that the cars are English with a variable number of gears actually functioning each day?

Sorry I just had to after thinking about shifting in my sister's father-in-law's TR-6

And that's why I ride motorcycles. Though I must say, while I am restyling my vintage Harley-Davidson Sportster into a screaming British-style cafe racer I've been riding around on the other motorcycle in the family, which has an automatic transmission (but no stereo or cruise control...).

I get a little scared when I hear about people who aren't completely engaged in the process of piloting 1000 kilogrammes of hurtling deadly metal...

Yup, that's one of the wizard's own kilts and I think you could hide several small appliances in the stealth pockets in that thing!
