My most frequent kilt checker is my shepard, wet nose EW!
You might not even notice a wet nose when it's humid like Florida.

I have been checked "without permission". After the, uh, inebriated females (not ladies, at least at the moment) satisfied their curiousity I let them walk away, nice and peaceful. Though its only happened a couple times I learned quickly that sometimes I.F.'s can be quite persistent.
I was checked without be asked first at a bar on St. Pats day. Young lady knelt in front of me and lifted up the front. My wife was standing next to me and it was the best laugh I have ever seen her have. The girl was maybe 1/2 my age. most of the time when I feel it being raised I just slap the hand. But on this occasion I had a beer in each hand, so couldn't. I guess when your in your early 50's and the checker is maybe 25 it could be considered flattering
