Similar issues here, and all joking aside here's a product I have tried and liked: L'Oreal Sublime Bronze self-tanning lotion. Combines SPF15 with the self-tanning action. Not inexpensive, and you have to keep it up if you want the effect to last (because it just colors the top layer, which sloughs off regularly). But I can personally recommend it!

Scotland doesnt get sunny too often - therefore we expect those of mainly western European decent to have pale legs!
Mine arent too bad because my hair appears to darken my legs a bit

I now have this wonderful tan on my legs from wearing kilts all summer. It goes from just above my knee to just below my knee. Sorta like a four inch thick band of color all else is a soft white (pale is too much of a word and implies sicklyness(sp) ). I will try to correct this odd look over the next week or so as we are doing some heavy and dirty work on the homestaed and will be wearing sh--ts(God forbid and please excuse me).

Between cycling in those short lycra shorts and golfing in those bermuda shorts everything keens to ankles on me is pretty bronze, and generally stays that way most of the year, although it needs a bit of atunes up in the spring each year. I tanned a lot as a youngster, working ourtside a lot. and once you have the base tan it really never goes away.

Care should be taken with the artificial tanning products, as I have seen my share of orange faced people and zebra stripes on poorly reachable places like backs, and the backs of legs, arms and shoulders, looked like it had been put on with a poorly used pait roller. Find a good friend who can help you with the hard to reach spots. And go slow. Don't try to paint everything the first time and expect afer a couple days to have to go back over it agaqin to even things out in the light spots--- and there will be light spots, unless you decide to have it done professionaly with an air brush..

I have perpetual pale legs (even though I'm outside a lot) and am not hairy at all. Generally speaking my legs look like a plucked chicken. My avatar is a picture of my right calf. Observe the pastiness.

Whiteness is OK. As Brother Falldown says, who cares about some ninny's opinion...?? People oughtn't make fun of your complexion.
