Tom, you are SO right in everything you say concerning the Tara/Murphy tartan in Rocky's Semi-Trad selection. Apart from its connections to The Emerald Isle, it is one of the more beautiful 'green' tartans I know and I was so pleased I ordered a kilt in it from USA Kilts back in March/April. Not only was the PV fabric perfect for the Californian weather at that time (I had it delivered, with another in MacBeth Ancient, to me whilst on holiday there), but it has also seen plenty of wear here in the UK this summer* - where it has been much admired.
(*I use the word loosley!)

Take care,
Ham.

Yes, in my pictures at the top of this thread I am wearing bottle green hose from Gaelic Theme. But lovat green hose, like Hamish is wearing, also go well with the kilt.

And we're going (at SOME point in the future) to be getting 'Muted Green' hose which will match muted tartans (like this one) perfectly!

Actually, Tom, the hose I am wearing are not lovat green but more a 'grass' green - a slightly darker and yellower green than lovat - which matches the green in the tartan exactly. I must try lovat sometime; I've several pairs and not worn them for a year or more!
Take care,
Ham.

No pic yet but I have the USAK Tara/Murphy semi trad too. Great looking tartan as Tom and Hamish have both so elegantly demonstrated.
Sláinte!
