Scottish and Irish Diaspora - Populating Canada

My Parents and Grandparents came to Canada in the 1950's, it was because at the time there were no prospects in Scotland. Some of my Aunt's and Uncles stayed, and so no I have relations I've never met who are still over there. I just thought I'd give you my folks reasoning for coming. My Dad told me long ago that my Grandfather gave him the choice of either Australia or Canada, he chose Canada.

A touching story Alex; I'm glad you have felt comfortable in sharing it. Perhaps it may not be so very different from the stories that might be told of so many of our families who left so long ago that the all knowledge of them is long gone.

Do you know Thistledown perhaps? He bounces between the two countries (B.C. and Inverness shire) somehow, though he posted recently that he is still trying to get out of his driveway in the Highlands for holidays in the south, so he may not be answering emails.
