Geoff,
What's that structure behind your head? (I don't mean the house, but the tall thin structure).

I live near Montreal and winter is the only time of the year I'm not kilted.
Have you tried to be kilted when mercury drops at -20C ?

I'm kilted in the winter here in Montreal, but I need thicker hoses...
And where is all the snow...

I see that you blame Norway the way we blame Canada. '...the dreaded Alberta Clipper or freezing Canadian air mass.....'
Only the 40+ inches we got in the last week came from Texas!

That would be a tree.....
hehe
Actually that's a chimney if you are referring to the tall boxy structure. You see a lot like that in newer construction around here.

El Niño turns out to be El Ña Ña! Snow for the poor ones who've been missing out for all these years.
I think that I heard once that as the ice caps melt they absorb heat from the atmosphere. Barb T, as a scientist, if you see this, do you think there is any truth to a little cool as part of the thaw?

Thanks, I did wonder. It's a strange place to put a chimney. It's in front of windows too.

I was just walking by BC Place - the home of the 2010 Olympic opening ceremony and noticed all the cherry trees in bloom.

It is a chimney, and it is not really in front of the windows. The end unit of the town houses it's attached to is facing to the side, which you can't tell in this picture.
I really didn't want to start a discussion/debate on climate change of whatever variety - too much heat gets generated - lol.
