Ahhhh...you can't really say that...it has nothing to do with that and mostly to do with individual people and their personalities. As is often pointed out here, the founder of their movement didn't wear troosers.
It's just unfortunate for ScotCop that they seem to be setting him up in order to get rid of him.

I know where you're coming from. That ex-major needs to be canned for talking to you like a chump...and for proving with that transvestite comment that he's ignorant and/or prejudiced against people who are proud of their ancestry.
Me and one other guy lost a job because we were military reservists...I was USNR, he was USAR. Two weekends each month the guy was short one man from his crew. Long story short he fired us for it and when we took him to court he changed his tune and instead accused the other guy of stealing a table saw, which we later saw on ebay with his truck in the background. He said I showed up hung over every morning. Funny...I thought you had to drink to have a hangover! We lost. Our word against his? No. Us broke and unemployed guys vs. six figure lawyers. Three of them!
All in all, it doesn't matter what they tell you now if you go to court for illegally terminating you...it's what they say in court, and what's in writing is even more important.
I agree with others here--let them fire you. Usually quitting for anything short of fearing for your life or safety will leave you with no recourse. Plus it makes them feel as if they can do it to the next guy too.
Just my $.02...now I'm broke.

D-Day: War's over, man. Wormer dropped the big one.
Bluto: Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? H@ll no!
Otter: Germans?
Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.
Bluto: And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough...
[thinks hard]
Bluto: the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go!
[runs out, alone; then returns]
Bluto: What the freak happened to the Delta I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? This could be the greatest night of our lives, but you're gonna let it be the worst. "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Bluto, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my a$$ from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Wormer, he's a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer...
Otter: Dead! Bluto's right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.
Bluto: We're just the guys to do it.
D-Day: Let's do it.
Bluto: *Let’s do it*!
Now tell me all of you aren't logging into netflix right now to cue up a copy of Animal House

Oh, definitely wait until they 'can' you. That way you should be able to collect unemployment compensation!

See now I am typing this from a computer where I have a model of the Deathmobile in a box behind me.
So the general feeling is to let them fire you and collect unemployment. You are thinking of quitting first. I really can't offer much advise either way, I have done well in employment and lack the frame of reference here. So all I will offer is this.
If by chance you do decide to quite, do it Kilted. If by chance they let you stay for the two weeks you offer instead of firing you on the spot, be Kilted every day. After all, what are they going to do, fire you?

Nothing like hearing you're gonna get canned on your day off! Brings the film 'Friday' to mind...
I agree with the concensus here; let them fire you, don't sign off on any exit paperwork that details your 'offenses', and file for unemployment benifits. if they dispute your claim, appeal and tell them about your manager.

If you have an employee manual be sure to familiarize yourself with the termination policy. If your employers have not followed it to the letter; you will have a field day at the Dept of Labor.
