Hello from British Columbia :D
To the members of this board
I have always been proud of my Scottish heritage and have always been interested in history. For quite some time I was unaware of just how for one sensitive people are on this topic and there definitely seems to be a group of wannabe's and the real deal if you could put it that way. I've always been interested in doing things the right way (a lil creativity always helps though :P) I am by no means a sexiest and I was originally very offended by the amount of people saying that women shouldn't wear kilts. I've done a couple hours of research though and I see and recognize the point they are making. So my main question is what is there for women who want to take pride in the tartan to and still remain respectful to cultural standards.

This site seemed to say a bit, but I am curious. I am completely open to criticism or any other things you think I should know before I start making an idiot of myself I have also read that the tartans were somewhat made up after the tartan was no longer banned? Somewhere I read that tartans were banned and a few tartans were saved in manuscripts of some sort.
Anyways thank you very much for taking the time to read this
