Good to know of another San Diegan! I now live in San Antonio, TX., but grew up in the Loma Portal area (near what is now Liberty Station -- tho old Naval Training Center), went to SDSU and lived in Santee / El Cajon.

Whether I had this done right is still a question in my mind, but I took it to my tailor and asked him to shorten it using a blind stitch. This kilt is not very heavy material and it was bought used. But I have to work with what I have for now.
It came out ok, the lenght is correct, but I'm not satisfied with the pleats. I ironed them, but I did not baste them like I've read about. It turned out alright, but it makes me want to buy something a lot better.
