Well the length looks about perfect. You seem to have a firm grasp of the casual look.
I suspect you might switch out the Doc Martens for some Vanns and go skateboarding.
Back in the Doc Martens a relatively simple pullover sweater made of thick yarn and knit on big needles might could get you in and out of church without raising any eyebrows. Probably not off-white or ecru, but something like relatively pale like salt grass or oatmeal I suspect. Judging by the lawn and the kilt I imagine the white balance in the .jpg I am seeing is about right. For slightly dressed up I would stick with the black T shirt, for the sweater not black or any other color found in a box of eight crayola crayons.
For the slightly dressed up look in the sweater you might switch to a necklace with a seashell or a bit of antler on it.
I suspect you will be more comfortable in a daywear sporran of black rather than brown leather.
I am thinking with a black leather sporran, the kilt, the Doc Martens and a bit of nature around your neck + a sweater like this one, girls are going to come talk to you.

Alternatively, look on here for a color you feel good about. I am not suggesting you drop $200 on a sweater. The one I linked you above is a marled look, where the yarn itself is more than one color. These are some more options to get a feel for what you _might_ wear before you go to Value Village or etcetera to find something similar.

For hot weather, consider a textured Tshirt, just a regular Tshirt but with like waffle or vertical stripe knit into it, so it is really a solid color but the light plays on the surface a little bit. Again, any color not in the 8 box from Crayola.
The next trick is what to say when a girl comes up to you and starts talking. I have been working on that problem for 43 years; my only advice is that is a good problem to have.

I don't love the skull sporran but all in all ya look good. Gods on fire- is my favorite Korpiklaani tune. I discovered them for myself about a year ago. Makes me feel like drinking with a bunch of Vikings

As soon as I saw the deer skull I thought of The Hunting Song by Korpiklaani. I also really like Bring us Pints of Beer. My son introduced us to Korpiklaani a couple of years ago. I tell people I'm listening to Finnish Folk Metal and that really confuses them. Looking good there CGR.

I had not heard of Korpiklaani, but since reading this post, I have been listening to them on my phone (Pandora) at work. Now a couple of my co-workers are fans as well. Thanks.

Sweet, another metalhead. I'm usually wearing a Slayer, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, etc shirt when kilted.

Yeah, I totally get that. I wear Korpiklaani, All Time Low, My Chemical Romance, Hey Monday, AC/DC, and whatever shirts I find at Hot Topic with my kilts. Usually I wear My Chemical Romance shirts since they are my favorite band and the fact I cant get enough of their merchandise.

You need this jacket highlighted on another thread. I see your mom and dad are both on the forum. Do we need to put pressure on them for a birthday present?

I found a jacket listed on eBay as "EMO BLACK MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE MILITARY PARADE JACKET" and I swear it would look better with a kilt than with p@nts. It is apparently based on the stage gear of a band called My Chemical Romance.
It is short waisted, has a military look, and even has a sporran cutaway. In pics of guys modelling it, when the jacket fits in the body it is way too short for pants. When the jacket reaches down to the pants waist, it is way too big in the body and the arms!
What do you think?
