    My mutt Abigail and me...

I've gotten plenty of comments from the neighbors, as it's my "chore" to walk the dog in the evening, and when I go out kilted, it's usually in the evening... so I'm walking the dog when kilted quite often.

If animals were kilt accessories, what animal would go with which outfit?
For no particular reason, I have always thought that a full-sized tricolor collie suited the Laird of the manner perfectly. Maybe I watched Lassie too much but I've always loved the look and manner of those dogs. Excellent outdoor and working dog and a good pet as well. Plus they exude an elegance that compliments the kilted man on the town.

But neither my lifestyle nor my wee hoose allows for such, and we are presently owned by the black beastie seen in my avatar. His name is Thistle, which he thinks means "food." When, like all cats, he goes a bit nutz and starts bounding around the house, one of us will ask the other, "Did you just put new batteries in the cat?"

We have a beautiful white rabbit named Gus. I keep trying to convince my wife that the perfect way to memorialize him when his time is up is, well, I'm sure you can guess.

Not a bad idea from a kiltie's perspective, but I'm sure your wife is mortified!

I have more than once offered to change Barbossa's name to Sporran. I'm the only one who thinks it's funny...

    Similar thing:
My sister has an 8yr old black and white Papillion. My father has lately taken to saying that she would make a lovely kilt accessory, when the day comes. His view on it is that it would be very unique. My mother has lately taken to calling my father "morbid".

I am currently without pet due to profound dander alergies in the Wife. But for that, I think that an ideal pet accessory for the kilt for a sizable person such as myself might be the Scottish Wolfhound who won best overall at The Westchester this year.

Here is what I like to accessorize my kilt with:

My two are Seamus and Boru. They are both Irish Wolfhounds. Forrest, it was the Scottish Deerhound that won Westminster. The Deer hound is a much smaller dog than the Wolfhound.
