We need a bracket!
It's a small thing but it has been bothering me for a while. In the description of the Traditional Highland Dress section there is an open bracket but no close bracket. Could that be fixed?
The place for discussion of Traditional and Classic Highland Apparel and Style. (Basically from the Reign of Edward VII to the 1980's)

There are some of us who feel that perhaps there should not be a bracket at all and that 1980's should also not be there. Why? Because traditional kilt attire is as appropriate now, today, as it was 30/60/100 years ago.
I really do not want to open up old wounds here and I have absolutely nothing against those who wish to wear "modern" style kilt attire. However, "traditional" and "modern" were and are equally valid yesterday, today, tomorrow and who knows, a time beyond our ken.

Jock, I agree with you 100% about the continued appropriateness of traditional kilt wear. In fact, a key point in the definition of tradition is that it is an ongoing practice, as opposed to something confined to history.
My comment was only about writing mechanics... an open bracket deserves a closed bracket!

A Freudian slip, perhaps?
Perhaps it might be a time to review the definition or "traditional" while we are at it then? It seems that two of us at least, agree that the XMTS definition of "traditional" is not altogether sound.

Yes, it may be that the bracket was left out as a Freudian slip... or maybe it was intentional?
Either way, I would be interested in reviewing the Xmarks definition of traditional. Perhaps the Traditional Highland Dress sub-forum be a better place for that...

In the mean time, we still need a bracket!

Have you read "Eats, Shoots and Leaves?" Believe it or not, it's an hilarious book about... punctuation!

Those are parentheses, not brackets.
I hate myself for bringing it up, though...
