I'm quite happy with the traditional kilt as it is just now, that said I'd quite like one with The Wizzard's pockets.
The electronic kilt idea could be good even if it is just for the geek factor

He kens na where the wind comes frae,
But he kens fine where its goin'.

What would I like to see in a kilt? My wife in a mini-kilt!
But seriously, I don't know other than what is already out there.

I kind of don't want to change it but these replies are interesting. I guess I would like less potatoes.

my one wish would be a material that feels and acts more like a nice heavy wool, but is a bit cooler for hoter climates like florida

***. LESS POTATOES!!
I do, however, like the idea of more stock PV tartans in heavier weight material. I like the weight of the kilt, so prefer heavier materials. I do, however, enjoy my casual kilt. The PV with teflon coating was perfect for a concert I attended last night. Although, a heavier PV would have been even nicer

I'm with more PV tartans and brown kilt straps being automatically used where brown is the proper color for the kilt's tartan.
The most important part of a kilt is the thread that holds it together. Maybe more quality threads designed for kilts that the start up kiltmakers have access to.

16 oz (QUALITY) PV cloth from MM, not just their 11 - 12 oz stuff.
A stronger market for traditional wool material (kilts and cloth alone) so that mills would remain self sufficient.
After re-reading this post... it sounds more like my Christmas list.
