    Felt it here in Pennsylvania -felt the concrete floor move at work. My wife and daughter felt the house walls, bed and closet coat hangers sway. A statue fell off top of curio cabinet and broke. Kilts suffered no damage. They must be earthquake-proof.

I'm sure all of VA will be devestated, especially when combined with the multiple after-shocks that will no doubt come about the same time....we'll probably have snow, too!
    Yep, hurri-snow-quake-mageddon! We're dooooooomed I tell you.........

    The quake was ....interesting. Not my first one but definintely the longest lasting. Had to pick up a couple of pictures at home and one glass sculpture nearly bought it but stopped and teetered rather than falling. I do have a friend however who is an antique dealer who lost +/- $10K of pottery. Guess that's what insurance is for though.

    Cheers.

    [QUOTE=Mael Coluim;1011605]Will,
    I'm hitting the ABC store, today to stock up for what's to come!

    I did have supper at Park Lane between jobs; two bottles of whisky fell during the tremors and one of them broke. The devastation of it all![/QUOTE

    Ern, I was on my way back from golfing with 112 other "old farts" and was just pulling into the local ABC store parking lot to purchase a bottle of Tullamore when it hit. I felt nothing at all in the car, but people were coming out of the nearby grocery store as well as the ABC store and looking around. I had no idea we had had an earthquake I heard some of them talking about things falling off of the shelves in the grocery store. Thank the gods that the Tullamore and other whiskeys in the ABC store survived with little more than a soft rattling of the bottles.

    Our last quake, several years back was more disturbing to me even though it was much weaker, (about a 3.5). For that one, I was sitting up in a tree stand during the deer season.. It was one of those warm fall afternoons and I was half dozing when it felt like a bear or something grabbed my tree and shook it..

    Jerry,
    Ha! Yesterday, I picked a a bottle of TD, too which was on sale and a bottle of Speyside. Later restocked my beer shelf. Good thing, too as last night we had our biggest after shock (4.5) @ 01:07 of the 5 since the first.

    With a hurricane coming up the coast, too it maybe an interesting weekend!

    That one woke me up, and my dog started barking. As for the weekend, my generator is fueled, and I have gas for the lanterns and the camp stove. I also have one well on my property with an old jet pump, so I can plug that into the generator and have water.
