Gotta try the Armadillo eggs too. Jalapenos, cheeses, sausage -- some of my favorite things all in one place!
In the words of Joey Tribiani: "Jalapenos? Good. Cheese? Good. Sausage? Good."
as for the nuts, im also weird about that. There are VERY few things in the world that I wont eat but nuts, fruit and/or meat together is definitely one of them. Sorry Morocco. Oh, and Ricotta cheese.
everything else is fair game

I like the mango and chicken wrapped in a tortilla thing.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Re: Scotch eggs Texas style
I made a super easy and amazing beef stew the other night. Fed my whole family plus put the rest in pyrex bowls for lunches. It was superb especially with a big thick piece of bread for dipping.
Ingredients
2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1 inch cubes
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 clove garlic, minced
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 onion, chopped
1 1/2 cups beef broth
3 potatoes, diced
4 carrots, sliced
1 stalk celery, chopped
*I also added some Natures Seasoning to taste. A few good shakes
Directions
Place meat in slow cooker. In a small bowl mix together the flour, salt, and pepper; pour over meat, and stir to coat meat with flour mixture. Stir in the garlic, bay leaf, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, onion, beef broth, potatoes, carrots, and celery.
Cover, and cook on Low setting for 10 to 12 hours, or on High setting for 4 to 6 hours.
so sorry if the picture is gigantic.

Game? Good. I likes me some venison or wild boar now and then.
Gonna steal your beef stew recipe, too!

Re: Scotch eggs Texas style
Had these at a family gathering for the men of my wife's family this spring but were made with wild boar sausage. Interesting concept for that meal; everyone was expected to bring a dish with the rules being you had to have either killed it, or grown it (the only exceptions being food made with wild mushrooms). Was a fantastic event and I knew I was going to fit in well with the family when I pulled up and saw an 8ft trailer turned into a smoker with a small two bay deep fryer attached to the tongue.

I miss venison I havent had that since my dad used to go out "shooting bambi" with his bow and arrow when I was in elementary school
oh and that beef stew is so easy. It took like 15-20 minutes to prepare and then I put it all in the crock-pot and then while it cooked I enjoyed a good autumn day out in the woods. No cooking necessary! Just happy eating
