Re: Online Scots RC
Kilted Kruisers or Kilted Riders would imply that we would ride kilted. I may not be ATTGATT, but I draw the line on riding kilted. Road rash isn't pretty and it would be too distracting to the cages. Besides, I already have one tank bag.

Ceilteach Marcaiche, means Celtic Riders
"My beloved America, thank you for your children. If your children want to become soldiers I will train them. When they are hungry I will feed them. When they are thirsty I will give them water. When they fight for freedom I will lead them. When they are unsteady on the battlefield I will motivate them. If they die on the battlefield I will bury them. So help me God."

Re: Online Scots RC
I like that, and I like Thistle Backs.
I've thought about it and do you really want to put yourself into a niche in the life by forming a riding club, as in Whatever RC?
Maybe just the name, no RC or anything after it.
"What are you?"
"Thistle Backs."
"Are you an MC, RC, MA, what?"
"We're Thistle Backs."

You, sir, make an exellent point. We'll put it to a vote on the 1st when we vote on the name. Eliminating the "RC" would also render us true neutral. We'd get NO flack from MCs or 1%ers.

Re: Online Scots RC
Ok guys. A little less than a week until the date I had origonally set for the vote on Club name. So far we have...
Celtic Cruisers
Thistle Backs
Kilted Kruisers
Ceilteach Marcaiche
Sons of Scotland
Claymores
Haggis Riders
Thistle Blacks (rugby team ?)
Any others, or do I call a vote ( in poll form)?
Once we have a name, I can set up a social group and we can start talking Patch ideas. I have a few.

Re: Online Scots RC
I'll add it to the list to vote on. Personally, with SoA there's been an explosion of MCs, RCs and MAs that are "Sons of something or other".
But I'll stand behind the majority vote.

Re: Online Scots RC
Ok guys, four days until the vote. I'll put up a pole by 12:00am on the first. I will close it 12:00 am on the 2nd of October (all times EST). After that, I'll request the thread locked and direct future inquiries to a social group here on X Marks.
We have
Celtic Cruisers
Thistle Backs
Kilted Kruisers
Ceilteach Marcaiche
Sons of Scotland
Speak up lads. Robert's Rules of Order apply. Majority vote will carry the day.

Re: Online Scots RC
as a point of recommendation from someone that rides....rides in territory governed by a patched club....and that is also a member of a very large ride club with a patch for our vests.
It would behoove you to take your newly minted patch that is intended to be worn to the local club or confederation in your hands and describe the patch, the membership and your goals and wanting their approval for it to be worn even though it is not a traditional three piece setup. It goes a long way towards respect and reducing trouble from probates or others looking for a reason to inquire as to your position...
Just a recommendation from someone that has been there and done that while enjoying this country on my Indian Chief.
