I'm currently the Pipe Sergeant of the Louisville Pipe Band, a position I've held the last two years. I've led the grade 5 (beginners) band in competition for the last three years (PM wasn't available due to professional commitments). I've also led mini-bands for paying gigs and played the bass drum on occasion.
I've been on the pipes for nearly 10 years. My personal progress has slowed since I stopped taking private lessons a few years back (I couldn't afford them any more).

Full disclosure: I moved earlier this year and am NOT a member of this band. I've swapped some e-mails with the PM and am going to start attending practices soon.
I wish I believed in reincarnation. Where's Charles Martel when you need him?

Not in a pipe band but one of our clan members let us know about the Clan MacLeay Pipes & Drums in Portland, Oregon. Now if I could just get them into one of our tartans.......

I was both a piper and drummer for the Ulster Pipe Band of New York, many years ago. We played at the premier of "Zulu", when it first came out.
