    Re: Scotch and snack foods

My condolences to the Texas fans. I grew up on the Senators, who were then sold and moved south.............................

As for Scotch and snacks, I too favor savory snacks. Smoked meat nibbles are a favorite. I am currently having a lot of fun with the smoker and really like the way walnut smoke flavors the meat. Smooth. Apple is good too.

Haggis bites are a good pairing as well. Put some phylo dough or a small bit of puff pastry dough in a mini muffin tin and fill with a spoonfull of your favorite canned haggis. Also good are haggis stuffed hot peppers.

A glass of Bowmore, neat and some good Cabot Farm sliced sharp cheddar.

Oh, and a good maduro cigar (Nub, Olivia).

You have to love a Single Malt Scotch and a Walkers shortbread. Macallan 12 yr is a fine way to go. A very nice way to enjoy a dram.

    Re: Scotch and snack foods

I prefer a sharp cheese (cheddar, stilton) or smoked meats with my drams.
I've found that most relationships work best when no one wears pants.

Frankly, if you are going to drink a beer to celebrate Texas, try Shiner bock!Steven Wilson, MD (UTMB '97 Hook em Horns!)
