Re: Lapel Pins
Like others--mostly--I only wear one lapel pin at a time, and only when I have an actual lapel to pin it on. You know, like a sport coat or a suit coat. Very occasionally, I wear a red poppy from the VFW (this time of year), or I may find a nice little bloom somewhere that strikes my fancy. But the rest of the time, it's likely a Masonic pin.
Oh, yes, there is the one pin that looks like two; one is a Scottish Rite and the other a Shrine. It's only one pin, but it looks a little like two pins.

One at a time for me, as well. Usually one of the honors I gained as a member of Junior Chamber International.

Re: Lapel Pins
I've also seen lapel pins stacked above kilt pins, or even stacked alone in the location of the kilt pin. And worn them that way myself.

Re: Lapel Pins
Thanks for all the feedback. I happen to have an old boonie hat with a collection of lapel and other pins. I tried to wear it one time, but my wife would not even pretend to allow that!

Re: Lapel Pins
When wearing a "formal" lounge jacket I either wear my Royal Marines (subdued) lapel pin or the Commando Dagger pin, but only one at a time. Even in casual gear I often wear one depending on the time of year and occasion. It could be a small thistle a saltire or a charity pin or one of a number I have. At this time I wear my small poppy as per Thistle Down's photo or a normal sized poppy worn with another larger Royal Marines badge as the pin.
Having worn ties to work for many many years I am happy to see the back of them for most of the year and although I do have "regimental" and club / association ties I can wear I tend to go open necked unless the occasion calls for it. Even then I tend to wear a lapel badge too.

That guy is me at a helmet law event at our state capital, in the late 80's. My vest weighed about 25 pounds by then!
I carried it around in my bike, but would actually only wear it at "special events" like that.

As for lapel pins, I don't wear them. I prefer the understated (not boring though) look with my choices for Highland day dress, and being a wee bit more ornate with my evening dress.
Best wishes,
Oh worry not, the picture passed through the "Lochaber censor's" view and got the all clear, there is a similar picture that did not!
As the person responsible for the pictures is also the censor, I have little to say on the matter!
