Until this very thread, I had not seen a skunk sporran that I had cared for in the least.
One of my mates wears one... I never liked it at all, and have tried to talk him into getting something else.

(Good times in Vegas!)
There's a kiltwearer around here who wears a skunk sporran, who wears it because it exactly matches his beard! Yes his black beard has two white stripes upon it.

I echo your sentiments and absolutely love that sporran.
On the other hand, your friend's sporran is fur with a leather flap. I don't know why (maybe the loathing of so-called "semi-dress" sporrans) but I do not like ANY fur pouches with a furless leather flap... they just don't look right to me.
Have fun and throw far. In that order, too. - o1d_dude

Thanks very much, Sirs! I felt the same way, when I first saw it- Lamar Britt had just started selling his sporrans through the STM, and had made up several for consignment, to sell at the Stone Mountain Games. Pepe was one of them.
As soon as I saw it, I had to have it. All of Lamar's sporrans are absolutely first rate, and I've seen quite a few other skunk sporrans that he's made in the same pattern (all beautiful), but I've never seen one that struck me the same as Pepe- To my eye, the pelt is absolutely perfect for the size and shape of this sporran.
... maybe we can lift some DNA from Pepe and clone him.

Ya know, I have to concede they look good, like badger for evening wear; but I just can't get over skunk. Maybe from growing up out in the country...

I love skunk pelts. Not skunky, just skunk.
When I was a kid, we had a skunk for a pet, and since then I always thought it was a beautiful fur. I love skunk sporrans. Very striking and elegant, yet somehow rather everyday in a way.

Re: Skunk Fur Dress Sporran
I am a big fan of the skunk sporrans. Not so much the full face. A skunk fur spirran is on my wish list...and holds the top spot on my sporran wish list. When I do finally decide to get one, there are a couple makers within this forum that will hear from me.
I would be interested to see your work too, if you decide to go for it. Best of luck!

I never had one as a pet, but did get to pet one once. What a fine and gentle little creature! Illegal here now, but glad I met one.

Aye, I hear that they make very fine pets, indeed, especially once they have their...modified sweat gland... removed.
I've not had the good fortune to pet one, as of yet, but it's on my bucket list.
