Yeah. Jonesing. I did not get on to this project in time, but I have the jump on an accessory.
Carol's Handknits, Cthulhu Bonnet, Extra Large

That's awesome, Mark. If I were a skier, I'd be all over that like stink on a Shoggoth.
...and in other news, it seems things may be percolating with my impending kilt. Hopefully I'll be able to confirm with details soon. Ooo mama...

No, Master Ross. Just, no.

"R'lyeh Sett Jonesin'"
I keep dyslexically misreading the title of this thread as:
"Scarlett Johansson"
and wonder what in the world she has to do with kilts.

Re: R'lyeh Sett Jonesin' Thread...
Some folks have asked if I could pin up the cloth to show different pleating options. As most who have ordered kilts from me are wanting four yard box pleats, I pinned this up showing the wide pleats of this style kilt. Some of you are getting five or six yard kilt, so just imagine the pleats a bit more narrow in that case. :-)
First, to the "mystery stripe." Note how this emphasizes the horizontal stripes across the rear.

Next to the triple purple lines.

Finally, to the bright green stripe.

Thanks for these, Matt. They help quite a bit in making decisions. I wish I weren't so torn between the various options. With a tartan so plain "on the face" it has a surprisingly different look with each option.
BTW: I'm willing to bet this is the only thread in all of X-Marks with a tag that reads "unspeakable horror"

Re: R'lyeh Sett Jonesin' Thread...
I know Matt has posted some wide pleat options, I am making a 8 yard traditional knife pleat , and I've pinned some further tests showing a narrower pleat.
The wide green line isn't really wide enough to have it as a complete pleat, except if there were rather a lot of very narrow pleats, but I suppose that is still an option!
The triple purple works best I think if the pleat become centred, as the complete arrange is a little too wide to make a good number of knife pleats.
The half and half manages to maintain most of the colours in a balanced form.
Of course the final decision is down to my client, but it's always interesting to see the various options!

Thanks Paul! I am definitely looking forward to seeing which one is selected for this. When I designed it I was definitely thinking more along the lines of a box pleat, so it's interesting to see how it behaves for knife pleats.
