Now accepting registrations Kilt Kamp 2012
Victoria, BC, Canada At Freedom Kilts
Classes will start on the morning of Sunday, the 5th of August 2012
. Classes will conclude the evening of Thursday, the 9th of August 2012.
If you have ever wanted to try your hand making any type of kilt from a full Tank to an X-Kilt, this Kamp will be a must.
Mark your calendars and start putting your pennies aside.
Barb Tewksbury, co-author of "The Art of Kiltmaking" will be our guest speaker on Traditional Kilt Making.
You may sign up for the Traditional Kilt course or the Contemporary Kilt course, but you can move freely between the two. In effect you are getting both courses for the price of one.
If you will be making a Traditional Kilt the book "The Art of Kiltmaking" By Barb and Elsie Streumeyer is the primary reference. You should bring your copy if you have one or we have a supply here at Freedom Kilts.
You will also need to provide your own fabric. You can bring it with you, mail it to the kilt shop in advance, or we can order it for you and have it waiting.
You will need your own needles, thread and thimble.
If you do not have you own stabilizer, interfacing, and lining fabric we have supplies at the shop.
The same goes for straps and buckles. Bring your own, or purchase them after you get here.
We are hiring the hall right next to the kilt shop as additional work space and will provide tables and chairs for everyone.
Your one Kilt Kamp fee will cover both courses and you may freely go back and forth as much as you wish.
We are now accepting registrations for Kilt Kamp.
Cost for the 5 day, kiltmaking course is $350.00cdn.
We are limiting registrations to 8 for the Traditional Kiltmaking course and 6 for the Contemporary course.
To reserve your place at Kamp please send an email to: steve@freedomkilts.com
Minimum cost to register is 1/2 the total or $250.00cdn with the remainder due by the start of Kamp. You can, of course, pay for the entire course in one payment if you wish.
If you need lodging for the course I can help with hotel, and B&B listings.
There is a good neighborhood pub and a coffee shop available.
We hope to hold a Kilt Night in conjunction with Kilt Kamp with special guest performer. You do not have to register or take the course to attend the Kilt Night.
