Dale I love the entire outfit. The kilt with the nat geo sweater and the blue hose. AND THE SPORRAN!!!! Incredible. And you obviously can't go wrong with w Ryan Ross bonnet. Well done sir!

I wear a bonnet mainly when it's cool/foggy/drizzly/rainy. . .But then, in San Francisco that means I get to wear one fairly often.
Normally, when I do wear one, it looks like this on my head:

As you can see though, the winds had other ideas about how it should look.
(EDIT: The boots, BTW, are Timberland "Earthkeepers" I tried on and bought at REI a couple of weeks ago:

They're higher, at 6", than the ankle-brogues I wear, but are better for this sort of hiking and scrabbling along the cliffs. They're lightweight, very comfortable right out of the box, good ankle support, great traction.)

May I ask, what is the tartan? One of the best looking kilts I've seen! Excellent look from head to toe.

Thank you! That's Douglas Weathered, made by Matthew Newsome.
You can perhaps see the sett and colors a bit better in this thread:

Just for grins, here's a closer look at the "pleat action".

Re: An Afternoon On The Edge
Nice photo, Dale. May I ask what colour blue (St. Andrew's, blue mix, or ancient?) are your Lewis hose, and what colour are your traditional garter ties (dark natural, bison?)? Simple curiosity.
Cheers,

Re: An Afternoon On The Edge
Pretty good guesses!
Ancient Blue hose, Bison garter ties.

Wandering around in Gale force winds? Try 8 hemlocks, it'll keep that pesky hem from flying up. Shin and knee brusing comes as a bonus.

Sorry, I now realize this isn't the best place to stick this. It kind of breaks the flow of the thread. I apparently can not delete it yet. Hmm
I was tilting at the first timers picture posting windmill and not thinking enough about where it should go.
Really awesome serene pictures guys.
